Capricorn Media began as a limited company in 2004 delivering media training of all kinds to the sports and corporate business market. In the 12 years we have been trading we have worked with high profile footballers like Gareth Bale, Adam Lallana and Theo Walcott, former Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier, Formula 1 driver Nelson Piquet Junior, British tennis star Kyle Edmund and European Tour golfers Andy Sullivan and Andrew “Beef” Johnston.
We are based in Brentwood, Essex but our training workshops have taken place all over the world, notably Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Tenerife, Botswana, Namibia, Kenya, and Ghana. Our clients are in sport and in business.
Media training, broadcast training and presentation training are a core part of Capricorn’s business but Director Robin Bailey remains an active sports broadcaster for programmes such as Premier League Preview, and European Tour Weekly among his voice-over credits, and he can be heard regularly on All England Club’s Wimbledon radio coverage and on the R & A’s Open Championship TV highlights programmes each year.
Robin is also a regular host of events, notably the Digital Awards series in Essex, Surrey, Hertfordshire, Milton Keynes, Kent and Cambridgeshire and the annual National Mentoring Conference in London.
A QUICK GUIDE TO OUR SERVICES
Sports Media Training
Create interest for sponsors, charities and foundations while promoting sport at the same time.
Our on-air experience is invaluable for broadcasters and producers as they do more reporting, presenting and voice- over work.
Our work with business is often core media training, preparing company spokespeople for on-air appearances which strengthen their brand, and help to create more business.
Capricorn Director Robin Bailey is a well-known voice in the sports world and puts his name to programmes in football, golf and tennis especially.
Having worked as a TV presenter at the BBC and ITV, Robin is an experienced pair of hands for your conference, event or roadshow.
Video for the Web
Video is very much part of Capricorn’s philosophy in training and we transfer our understanding of TV and video into planning and filming productions for our clients.
“Robin’s courses have been an integral part of BBC News Channel sport for 13 years now. My first experience was as a pupil – Robin used beautifully simple techniques to polish my writing to pictures. Before long, my work was on BBC1 bulletins. As a manager, I’ve put a number of my colleagues Robin’s way.
“He’s helped young broadcasters like Tim Hague blossom into experienced network presenters and reporters. Robin’s also guided numerous others into taking their first steps in TV package-making, including the former Paralympic swimmer Kate Grey. Everyone I’ve spoken to who’s worked with Robin benefits enormously from his training and the follow-up notes I receive after each session are invaluable in their ongoing development.”
